Micque

 

Teacher, Moderator and Choreographer
Micque is a certified dance instructor who has been teaching the art of dance to students ages two through adult for over 30 years.  Her competitive students have won numerous regional as well as special judge and overall high score awards.  They are also National Overall Winners for both Starbound and KAR National Competitions.  She, herself, has been a national award winning competition competitor and was the President of her high school dance team.
 

Micque is a college graduate of the University of New Orleans and is a certified elementary school teacher presently teaching at Schoeffner Elementary in St. Charles Parish where she has held the title of "Teacher of the Year ".  She is going into her 21st year of teaching elementary students.
Micque was the director and choreographer of the Chapellette Dance Team affiliated with the Archbishop Rummel Raider High School Marching Band for eight years.  Under her leadership, the dance team won many 1st place state titles and were invited to many elite events.  The girls were invited and participated in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in NYC. 

Micque is presently the director of the Desty Darlings Dance Team for Destrehan High School.  The Destys presently hold the Louisiana State titles for both UDA and American Allstar.  The Destys, under Micque's direction, have attended the UDA National Dance Team Competition in Orlando which is televised on ESPN.  They placed 14th in the nation out of 90 teams from over 30 states in their division.  Her students have become UDA staff members and are presently on many of their college dance teams including the LSU Golden Girls, Southeastern University Nationally ranked Lionettes, and Hawkline.  Micque recently was recognized for her leadership by receiving the Coach's Award at UDA
